Please join the Moore County NAACP and it’s HKonJ Coalition partners for the 2021 HKonJ Moore Moral Motor Caravan. Every year since 2006, on the second Saturday of February, tens of thousands of activists from across the state of North Carolina (and from across the country) descend on the State Capital for the Mass Moral March on Raleigh and the HKonJ People’s Assembly. In this unusual year, the members of the HKonJ Coalition are asking that the activists who usually participate in the Moral March, instead organize motor caravans in the cities and counties where they live in order to bring the spirit of the march into their own communities. In Moore County, we will Gather at The Southern Pines Primary School at 1250 W New York Ave. in Southern Pines on Saturday, February 6 at 12:30 pm with the caravan scheduled to roll out at 1:00 pm. We encourage people to have signs for their cars that reflect the values of the HKojJ Coalition. You can find those By clicking on the “The Issues” tab at the top of the page at http://hkonj.com/. This year we also want to encourage people to get the Corona vaccine so signs to that effect are also welcome. Our agenda is not a Left agenda, it’s not a Right agenda, it is a moral agenda. Parts of the motorcade videos collected from across the state will be stitched together and shown as part of the HKonJ People’s Assembly, which will be held virtually this year on the second Saturday in February (the 13th this year) like it normally is. Signing up for the Moore Moral Motor Caravan is not strictly required but we do encourage it as it helps us organize. You can do that here: https://signup.com/go/kFSNnGU
We are asking participants to approach the HKonJ Moore Moral Caravan rally point by taking Gaines Street and turning west (towards the Primary School) onto W Indiana. If you see vehicles lined up on W Massachusettes, please just line up behind them. Otherwise, just turn right onto Carlisle. This will keep the line-up from blocking people's driveways.
Thank-you! We look forward to seeing you safely in your cars on Saturday, February 6, at 12:30 pm.
