Moore County NAACP ML King, Jr. Day Youth Art Competition

MC NAACP Youth Art.jpg

In addition to speakers and musical performances, The Moore County ML King, Jr. Day Virtual Youth Celebration will also feature a Youth art contest. The inspiration for the piece should be this year’s theme: A Light in the Darkness. This can be taken literally or figuratively. It can be an image of someone (famous or not) that they feel is/was a shining light. It can be of an event that inspires “lightness.” A place or action that they feel lifts up humanity. However they would like to depict this theme.
The piece can be in any medium (or mixed medium) that the artist chooses. Crayon, pencil, water color, paint, collage, charcoal... whatever. WORK MUST BE ORIGINAL THOUGH.
The contest is open to all youth that are 0-19.
Submission should include:
- a close up, clear photo of the work
- the full name of the artist
- the grade of the artist
- the age of the artist
- a brief description of the work and it meaning to the artist
Submission deadline is Saturday, January 16 @ 12 NOON. The email for submissions is: mcnaacpcontests@gmail.com
